On December 5th, senior researchers from the INSANE Lab -George Giannakopoulos, Panagiotis Krokidas, and Christoforos Rekatsinas- visited the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Patras to deliver a lecture on the dynamic interplay between Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Engineering.
What began as a lecture quickly transformed into a vibrant, three-hour interactive seminar, thanks to the engagement of more than 50 students and professors. The audience actively participated by asking questions, voicing valid concerns about artificial intelligence’s capabilities and limitations, and discussing its potential future development.
This event emphasized the vital importance of interdisciplinary dialogue in shaping the future of AI and engineering. The participants’ curiosity and engagement motivated us to strengthen connections across diverse fields, promoting innovative technological advancements.
